The world's least corrupt countries ranked. New Zealand - along with Finland and Denmark are tied for the least corrupt countries in the world.
The USA is tied with Chile at 27 - last on this list. I suspect they went 27 deep (one would think an odd number to stop at) just to make sure the USA made it at all.
Arguably, the war in Afghanistan was unwinnable because of the corruption there. The Afghani people trusted the Taliban more than the corrupt government installed by the USA that simply grifted all of the money the USA and others provided for rebuilding the country.
This is important and we need to do better.
